A Healthy Life Is Within Reach with Our Innovative Care

specialized Pallative Care
The SCO Club provides specialized, Palliative Care for people living with any incurable, serious illness. Worldwide, only about 14% of people who need palliative care currently receive it.
Contrary to popular belief, palliative care is NOT only for hospice care. Unlike hospice care, palliative care can begin at any time during a serious illness.
Palliative care treatment is aimed at relieving the symptoms as well as stress associated with serious illnesses and improving a patient’s quality of life. Not only does palliative care help improve quality of life but it can also help family members understand what is happening. Palliative treatments can help curb emotional suffering from anxiety and depression, which some clinical doctors are not trained to deal with.
The best time to begin palliative care is at the time of diagnosis. Just keep in mind that palliative care is not the end of the road. At SCO, many patients end up out of palliative care and living many more years of quality of life.
If a patient has a serious illness that's landing them in the emergency room often, such as cancer or other chronic ailments of disease, then its likely a good time to consider palliative care.
Recent studies, including one published in the New England Journal of Medicine, have shown that patients with a serious illness who received palliative care lived longer than those who did not received this care.
Palliative care is defined by the World Health Organization(WHO) as an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual. Palliative care will enhance quality of life, and may also positively influence the course of illness;[...] is applicable early in the course of illness, in conjunction with other therapies that intended to prolong life.
